The project         Project

The No-Extinction project aims to create a worldwide international movement that implements a grassroots revolution to compel governments to first reach a global peace agreement and then enforce all resolutions issued by a supranational body created in the meantime, with the goal of avoiding issues and a likely future extinction caused by climate change, the dominance of an artificial intelligence or a nuclear conflict.

The purpose of the movement is first and foremost to raise awareness and to make the entire world population, and particularly the more mature students, conscious of the real risks we are facing, by using all available means of communication. It invites all citizens, all activist organizations and trade unions to take part in the initiative to compel governments through indefinite strikes, non-violent actions, and the initiation of climate lawsuits to implement the measures listed in the text of the homepage of this site and described more in detail in the book "How to Avoid Extinction (and Make the World a Better Place)," which can be freely downloaded from HERE. However, these measures are not final and exhaustive and may be expanded or modified later according to expert opinions.

Fundamental Points

a) Global problems must be addressed at a global level with the collaboration of ALL the world's nations.

b) Individual nations cannot decide what to do, nor can politicians who have failed to take necessary measures in over 50 years. Instead, a world authority with decision-making and sanctioning powers for managing the climate and environmental crisis, for disarmament, and for achieving global peace must be created.

c) The union of all peoples and all activist organizations is an essential requirement to win these battles. As a famous proverb says, "unity is strength".

d) Only with the union and mobilization of a large part of the citizens will we be able to ensure that these demands are met.

e) For this, it is necessary first to inform and make the greatest number of people aware, especially young people, of the real risks we are facing so that they subscribe to the movement's newsletter to be informed of the initiatives to be undertaken and to participate actively.

f) Protest actions and demonstrations must be much more incisive and frequent because so far, striking occasionally, vandalizing some monuments, or blocking traffic has unfortunately not been effective. Students should refuse to go to school until the demands are considered, as studying is pointless if there is no future. Trade unions should also commit fully to the fight if they truly want to represent the interests of workers, who should obviously be protected to the maximum during the ecological transition phase. The resources to fund the transition can be sourced from a carbon tax, more progressive taxation of profits, great wealth and financial speculations, a real fight against tax evasion and by reducing military expenditures.

This could be the roadmap to follow:

1. Foundation of a global "No-Extinction" movement

2. Spreading the idea:
  • Seeking support from high-profile figures
  • Press releases to the media
  • Distributing the book in digital format to all schools

3. Invitation to join to everybody, particularly targeting scientists and individuals of high cultural standing

4. Invitation for experts to collaborate in:
  • Improving both the website and the book and translating them into other languages
  • Refining what needs to be done to mitigate global warming

5. Initiating a climate lawsuit in every justified nation

6. Indefinite strike and occupation of schools by students from around the world, and intermittent strikes by workers with demonstrations aimed at forcing governments to work tirelessly for global peace and to take the necessary actions to mitigate climate change

7. Creation of a global authority for managing the climate and environmental crisis. Reform of the UN by removing the veto system and giving it more powers.

8. Election of representatives from various nations (scientists, technicians, wise individuals)

9. Issuance of a global law on environmental crimes

10. Implementation of resolutions decided by the global authority
